KOICA Scholarship Program 2026

25 Mei 2026  |     Beasiswa

Dear Prospective Applicants and Colleagues,
I am Prof. Donghwa Lee, Chair of the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the Graduate School of Daegu University, Republic of Korea.
I am pleased to announce that our department is now accepting applications for Round 2 of the KOICA Scholarship Program 2026 — a fully-funded 27-month Master's Program in AI-Embedded System Convergence for Future Mobility and Smart Manufacturing, with intake on September 1, 2026.
The full Admission Guide will soon be officially posted on our Graduate School website (https://grad.daegu.ac.kr). In advance of the official announcement, I am sharing the guide and the program brochure with you directly so that prospective applicants may begin preparing their documents early.
The online application period is June 17 – June 24, 2026 (17:00 KST), and all original documents must arrive at our university by postal mail no later than June 25, 2026 (17:00 KST). Since international mail delivery takes time, I would also kindly ask prospective applicants to send scanned PDF copies of their documents to me by email before the postal mail arrives. This will help us begin the admission review without delay.
Applicants with Korean language proficiency will receive preferential consideration during selection. If you hold any official Korean language certificate, please feel free to mention this in your reply.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.
With warmest regards,
Prof. Donghwa Lee, Ph.D.
Chair, Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering

※ IMPORTANT — International Wire Transfers:
International bank transfers typically take several business days to be received and confirmed, and processing times vary by country and bank. Applicants are STRONGLY advised to initiate the application fee payment well in advance of the deadline to ensure that the fee arrives in our account by 17:00 KST on June 24, 2026. Payments that arrive after the deadline cannot be accepted, even if they were sent before the deadline.
■ Proof of Financial Capability
Proof of financial capability is required for ALL applicants, including those applying under the KOICA Scholarship Program. Although the KOICA Scholarship fully covers tuition fees, this document is a mandatory requirement of the Korean immigration authorities for the issuance of the D-2 student visa, and it cannot be waived.
The bank balance certificate must be issued under the name of the APPLICANT or the APPLICANT'S PARENT(S) only. Certificates issued under the name of any other family member — including siblings, cousins, uncles/aunts, or grandparents — cannot be accepted.
■ Language Requirements
Korean language proficiency is preferred and provides an advantage during selection, but it is NOT mandatory. Demonstrating English proficiency alone is also acceptable for application. If you do not have any official language certificate (either Korean or English), your language ability will be evaluated through a video interview. The interview can be conducted in Korean or English — both languages are acceptable.
If you do not have an official language proficiency certificate (Korean or English), you do not need to submit one with your application. In such cases, your language ability will be evaluated through a video interview conducted by the department. If you pass the interview, a certificate of academic ability signed by the Department Head will be forwarded to the admission office on your behalf, and your application will be processed accordingly.
■ Language of Instruction
Most classes are taught using both Korean and English at the same time. It is possible to complete the coursework in English alone; however, separate Korean language classes are also provided as part of the program, and a willingness to learn Korean is expected from all students.
In addition, please note that to fulfill the graduation requirements, students must achieve a minimum level of Korean language proficiency as specified by the Graduate School.
